Terms of Service

Welcome to SaltCo Home. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully because they govern your use of the SaltCo Home Sensor ("Device"), the SaltCo Home mobile application ("App"), and the SaltCo Marketplace.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading the App, connecting your Device, or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.
2. The Service & Connectivity
- System Requirements: The SaltCo Home Sensor requires a working 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network to transmit data. You are responsible for ensuring your network is active and functioning.
- Data Accuracy: While we strive for precision, salt level readings are estimates. Factors such as salt bridging, Wi-Fi signal loss, or sensor placement may affect accuracy. We are not liable for any damage resulting from a water softener running out of salt.
- Service Availability: We do not guarantee that the App will be up and running 24/7. Occasional maintenance or cloud service outages (via our provider, Google Cloud) may cause temporary disruptions.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to provide accurate information (including current email and phone number) and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Marketplace Services & Salt Orders
4.1. The Marketplace Platform
SaltCo Home acts as a marketplace facilitator that connects users with third-party dealers and sellers ("Sellers") for the purchase and delivery of salt products. By placing an order through the App, you acknowledge that:
- You are entering into a contract for the sale of goods directly with the Seller, not with SaltCo.
- SaltCo acts solely as the technical interface to facilitate the transaction.
- We are not responsible for the inventory, quality, or shipping performance of the Sellers.
4.2. Pricing and Payment
- Payment Processing: Payments are processed securely via Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to be bound by Stripe's Services Agreement.
- Authorization: You authorize SaltCo (via Stripe) to charge your selected payment method for the total amount, including product costs, shipping fees, and applicable taxes.
4.3. Shipping and Fulfillment
- Fulfillment: Orders are fulfilled and shipped by the third-party Seller.
- Delivery Estimates: Delivery dates are estimates provided by the Seller/Carrier and are not guaranteed by SaltCo.
- Risk of Loss: Title and risk of loss for the products pass to you upon the Seller's delivery of the items to the carrier.
4.4. Returns and Refunds ("No Return" Policy)
- All Sales Final: Due to the heavy and consumable nature of water softener salt, we do not accept returns or exchanges. All sales are considered final once the order has been processed.
- Damaged or Incorrect Items: If your order arrives damaged, or if you receive the wrong product, you must contact SaltCo Support within 48 hours of delivery. We will work with the Seller to determine if a refund or replacement is appropriate.
- Disputes: While you have rights via your payment processor to dispute charges, we encourage you to contact our support team first to resolve issues. Unwarranted chargebacks may result in the suspension of your SaltCo account.
5. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Device or App software.
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or network.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE AND APP ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SALTCO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE QUALITY OF GOODS PURCHASED FROM THIRD-PARTY SELLERS.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SALTCO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
